What I eat in a day

I thought I’d try a new style blog post today, firstly because I’ve seen some of these and I think they are really interesting, and secondly, because it might actually encourage me to eat a little better! If you like this type of post, I’ll do some more for different days, and I’ll include some recipes too!

I always start my morning my having some water. I always have water in a glass or bottle by my bed each night, so I like to finish it first thing in the morning. I usually do a daily exercise routine every morning, so having some water before this keeps me hydrated, and helps to prevent headaches and other nasty stuff like that.

When I’m getting ready in the morning, I like to put a pot of coffee on, so by the time I’m ready to leave the house, the coffee has brewed and is ready to go. I always try to make proper coffee if I have time, because instant coffee is just bleurgh! On days that I’m going to campus, I’ll pour my coffee into my travel cup, and drink it on the way, or when I’m in the library.

I generally don’t eat breakfast, even though I know I should! If I have a long day I will, but I usually wait until lunch. I’m on a bit of a health kick now, so my lunch today consisted of half a melon, and an apricot… Not the best lunch for a full day studying, I know. But it was seriously yummy! I also brought a few other pieces of fruit to campus to snack on while I’m working through the afternoon.


Dinner is leftovers from last night. It saves so much time making a double portion of food if I know I’ll be out the next night, so this is a quick and easy dinner to have. I had fajitas last night, so tonight is leftover chicken, onion, and pepper mix, with some guacamole, and lots of fresh coriander on top. It’s such a quick and easy meal, and if you’d like to see the recipe then let me know in the comments, and I’ll write that up for you.


So, that’s it for food today. Bit of a strange day really in terms of eating, but it was all yummy. I’ll be posting more of these in the hopes it will encourage me to eat better. Are there any posts you would like to see? If so, let me know in the comments below!

  1. I do the same with leftovers except more often than not I’m eating the second half of a big portion that I ordered out the previous night haha 🙈
