My make-up collection part 9: Mascara

Welcome back, after a few days break from this series. Today I’ll be listing all of my mascara products. I always always always wear mascara, however, I generally wear one mascara until it runs out, and then start on the next. This is in a vain effort to try and make them all last as long as possible, and stop them drying up. I hope you enjoy this post, and would love to hear about your favourite mascaras in the comments below. Continue reading “My make-up collection part 9: Mascara”

REVIEW: Cargo Blush in Sunset Beach

I received this blusher and a spectrum brush (SPECTRUM A04) as free gifts with my April Birchbox. I would’ve written about these products in that review, however they didn’t arrive with my box, and I didn’t really want to wait to do it. I really like these products (even more so because they were free), and I actually think I prefer them to everything that I received in my Birchbox. You can read that review here. Lifestyle

An average day for a uni student

I thought I would use this post to talk you through a typical day in my life, as a student at the University of Southampton. My days are fairly repetitive- I generally do the same thing most days. I hope you enjoy this post, and if you are a student, I would love to know if you do similar things to me.

I usually wake-up not very early… I’m normally leaving the house no later than 11… I want to be a morning person, but I’m just not. When I wake up, I have a shower, get dressed, put make-up on, and make a coffee to take to campus with me in my travel mug. It’s so much cheaper than buying coffee on campus, and much better for the environment! I bought mine for £4 in Flying Tiger. I only have lectures on Wednesday mornings (the benefit/downside of being a masters student on a research-heavy course!) If I don’t have lectures, I’ll generally find somewhere to work on campus- either a desk in the library, a quiet empty room, or in The Bridge- a cafe/restaurant on campus.

My usual work set-up in the library!

I normally work better alone than with my friends- it’s too easy to get distracted. At the moment, I’m working on my dissertation, which luckily isn’t due until September! I do this until lunchtime, and then I normally meet my friend and we buy lunch and an iced coffee and have a break together. I’ve really got into iced coffee recently- I don’t know why I’ve not tried it before because it’s so yummy! I need to start making lunch to take to campus because it’s much cheaper, but I always forget!

Chocolate flavoured iced coffee…!!

We then find a quiet room to do some work, and try our best not to get distracted! I’m currently working on my dissertation, but use this time to also write blog posts, organise my life, and do any other work. I have a to-do list pad that I bought from Amazon for less than £5, which is great for organising my life!

Usually about 7pm, we leave campus, and go bellringing for the evening. I think I must certainly win prizes for the oddest/most out-there hobby! We normally finish about 9pm, and go to the pub to socialise with our friends. This generally means I’m home about 11:30pm/12am, so it’s straight to bed ready for the next day.

If I’m home early, and it’s been a particularly long day, I’ll sometimes have a bath before bed. I normally relax by either reading, or catching up on YouTube videos, or watching Netflix.

I hope you’ve found this post interesting, and I would love to hear about your standard daily routines.

Until next time,

Clare .x.

My make-up collection part 8: Primers

Welcome back! So, although I meant to initially publish this series in the rough order in which I’d apply the make-up products, I kind of forgot to publish the very first step… primers. So, you’ll have to forgive me for the seemingly random order of this collection, but I hope you enjoy the post. As always, let me know if you’d like a full review of any of these products, and I’d love to hear your suggestions for any products you think I should try. REVIEW: I <3 Makeup Unicorn's Heart Highlighter

I saw this in Superdrug, and even though I’ve not heard the best things about rainbow highlighters, I just had to get it. And why, you ask? Because I’m crazy obsessed with unicorns. As a little girl I wasn’t, but I seem to be reliving my childhood, and now I just go crazy for them! Continue reading “REVIEW: I ❤ Makeup Unicorn's Heart Highlighter”

My make-up collection part 7: Highlighters

Welcome back, to the 7th part of this series. Today I’ve got a lot more products to talk about than yesterday, and they are very exciting products. Although I don’t wear highlighter very often, I think it’s absolutely gorgeous. Let me know if you’d like a full review of any of these products, or just the chance to see them close up. My make-up collection part 6: Contour products

Welcome back, after another quick break from this series. Today I’ll be talking you through my contour collection. It’s not the most extensive collection- only four products- but I’ll make up that tomorrow with my highlighter collection (spoiler alert)! Let me know your thoughts on any of these products, or if you’d like to hear more about any of these. Continue reading “My make-up collection part 6: Contour products”

April Pink Parcel

I recently subscribed to Pink Parcel, just to try it out, and since I got my first box for £7.99 (rather than £12.99), I thought it was pretty good. Pink Parcel is another monthly subscription box (like BirchBox), but it provides all the products you need for your period. You can select the types of products you need, and you can choose when you want it to arrive. I’m not going to go into too much detail about the period bit, but I’ll instead focus on the beauty box section. Continue reading “April Pink Parcel”

My make-up collection part 5: Blushers

Welcome back, after a brief escape from this series! Today’s post will showcase all of my blushers, and explain a little about each of them. I don’t use blusher on a day to day basis, but I think I want to introduce it to my daily routine again, because I have some really lovely products! Let me know if you would like to see a review of any of these products, or a make-up look including them.

MUA Blusher in Lolly- This is a lovely shade, and for a long time it was the product I would use every day for my blusher. It cost £1 (!!!) which I think is amazing, for such a good quality product!

The Balm Cosmetics Frat Boy Shadow/Blush- This is my new everyday blush, and it’s a really pretty subtle pink colour that you can build up if you prefer. The packaging is super cute too!

Sleek Blush in Flamingo- This is WAY too bright for me. It was given to me by a friend who didn’t use it, and neither do I… I’m not sure how I would go about using it, because it’s soooo bright!! Picture below.

img_20180420_151925.jpg

Sleek Blush in Rose Gold- I got this in my Sleek advent calendar this year, and it’s the most gorgeous blush ever. It has a really subtle highlight, and i think it’s beautiful. Check out a full review here.

Revolution Blush Palette in Dream Blush- This is a nice palette, with 8 really pretty shades, but I don’t really find myself using it much, because I have such beautiful other products. It’s a shame really.

MUA Pixel Perfect multi-blush in Pink Blossom- This is a really subtle blush and highlight product, but again I don’t wear it much. I feel like it’s not got much pigment… but it looks pretty.

MUA Cream blusher in Scrummy- I much prefer powder blushes because I just think they are easier to apply.

Model Co Creme Rouge for Cheek and Lips in Just Peachy- I think this is too dark for me- it’s more red than peach…

Seventeen Blush in Plum Puff

Bourjois Paris blusher in 42 Rose Blossom- This is so beautiful!! Very girly and pink, and perfect for that pink cheek glow!

Cargo Beach Blush in Sunset Beach- I only received this recently as a free gift with my April birchbox, but I think it’s gorgeous! I won’t say too much, because there’s a review to follow soon!

Two random blushers from The Colour Workshop, and I have no idea of what shade they are… helpful as ever!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, and I would love to hear your thoughts on any of these products!

Until next time,
